Position Summary:
The Retail and Sales Merchandising Space Planning Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing retail space utilization, ensuring effective product placement, and maximizing sales and profitability. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive analysis of store layouts and floor plans to identify opportunities for optimizing space allocation and product placement.
2. Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and sales teams to develop effective strategies for product assortment, category management, and promotional activities.
3. Utilize industry-standard software and tools to create accurate planograms and visual merchandising guidelines for optimal store layouts.
4. Analyze sales data, customer demographics, and market trends to identify consumer preferences and optimize product placement strategies.
5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of space utilization initiatives, recommending adjustments as necessary to improve sales performance.
6. Collaborate with store operations teams to ensure compliance with planograms, floor plans, and visual merchandising guidelines.
7. Conduct regular store visits to assess compliance, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging retail technologies to inform space planning strategies.
9. Provide analytical support for space planning projects, including assortment optimization, new store layouts, and store remodels.
10. Generate reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and performance metrics to key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, merchandising, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail space planning, visual merchandising, or a related role.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
4. Proficiency in using space planning software, planogramming tools, and MS Office Suite.
5. Excellent understanding of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and visual merchandising principles.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
7. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in planogram creation.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically to identify opportunities for improvement.
10. Knowledge of store operations, inventory management, and retail sales metrics.
